What is Gelato?
It’s a specially frozen ice cream-like dessert
made popular in Italy. It’s made with less fat and sugar than
American ice cream, yet it tastes creamier.
Gelato,
unlike our American ice cream (which by law has 20% fat in it),
contains only about 10% fat and less sugar, too. Most American
ice creams have about 50% air whipped into them, while our
gelato has around 30% air it, making it a rich, substantial
dessert without too much fat and sugar.
Check out our wide selection of flavors. If
you have food allergies, don’t hesitate to ask which products
would be healthiest for you!

Sorbetto & Granita
Our sorbetto is always made with fresh
fruit (except of course, our delicious chocolate and coffee
sorbetti–that’s
Italian for sorbettos). It contains no dairy products
– and that means NO FAT! – but it has a rich, creamy texture.
You probably know Granita as Italian
ice, often called Limone Italian Ices because lemon is
a favorite flavor. Made fresh in the Gelatería kitchen, granite
(that’s granitas in Italian) contain more water than
sorbetti, giving them a crushed-ice texture. These also
are made with all-natural ingredients . .. . and they taste
great!
Try these amazing flavors, hand-dipped from
our Italian-designed dipping cabinet:
- Nociolla (hazelnut)
- Limone (lemon)
- Café (coffee)
- Mondola (almond)
Quando avete bisogno di qualche cosa di dolce,
visitili alla Gelatería Scarpino.
